Gardai have resumed their search of a house in Drogheda this morning in connection with missing 8-yr-old boy Kyran Durnin.

Gardai are still questioning a man in relation to the boy’s disappearance – he will either be charged or released later today.

It’s understood that the man who gardai arrested on Thursday in connection to Kyran Durnin’s suspected murder was in a previous relationship with the main suspect in the 8-yr-old boy’s disappearance case.

In what could be a serious development in the case of missing schoolboy, Kyran Durnin, a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder this morning in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Gardaí are also carrying out searches at two properties in Drogheda.

Its understood that the man is being questioned and held at a garda station in the east of the country.

Gardaí say searches in Drogheda are to try and discover any evidence which might provide them with information as to Kyran’s current whereabouts or what has happened to him.

Gardai believe that 8-yr-old Kyran, who was only reported missing in August of this year, may have been killed up to two years ago.

A woman in her 20s was arrested on Tuesday but was released yesterday without charge.

It’s understood she was well known to Kyran and has been a person of interest in the case for quite some time. Gardai had informally interviewed her before.

Today seems different with major developments underway. More to follow.
