The sighting of a great white shark off the Mediterranean coast of Majorca is certain to put a dampener in the holiday aspirations of many.
The apex predator, measuring up to 16.5ft in length, was spotted off the coast of Cabrera, one of the Balearic islands.
While sharks are not uncommon around the Mediterranean, this is the first confirmed sighting of a great white in that area in over 30 years.
