We Had Enough: New poll reveals that just under half of the Irish public have no intention of paying their next water bill




According to a recent poll it has been revealed that just one fifth of the Irish public plan on paying their next water bill.

The poll which was conducted by Claire Byrne Live and Amárach Research also showed that half of the people surveyed said they have no intention paying their next Irish Water bill. The poll which was conducted in the wake of the general election asked respondents if they had any intentions of paying their water bill to which 22% said Yes, 49% said No and 13% said they did not know, whilst the remaining 16% said that water bills do not apply to them.

The poll also revealed 56% of Dubliner’s said they will absolutely not pay their next bill compared to 21% who said they would. Meanwhile management at Irish Water, have revealed that 745,000 out of 1.5m have already made a payment in the second billing cycle. The company have threatened they will levy fines on households who don’t pay a bill within a year.
