In what can only be described as a very very sad documentary, RTE depicted the tragic murders of three innocent Irish people in Melbourne, Australia between 2012 and 2013.

The murders of Dermot O’Toole, David Greene and Jill Meagher were all described in the documentary.

Dermot O’Toole and his wife Bridget O’Toole left for Australia in the early 80s.

They settled in Melbourne and had 3 boys out there. They started a jewelry shop just outside the city in Hastings.

In August 2013, a convicted criminal murdered in an armed robbery Dermot and badly injured his wife Bridget.

Next was David Greene who emigrated Melbourne for work in 2012 from Dublin and was murdered when an Australian stabbed him at a house party.

And finally Jill Meagher who left Drogheda for Melbourne with her husband Tom. Her story is the most famous as the unfortunate lady’s disappearance literally went round the world.

Jill was murderer while walking home from a night out in the Brunswick area of North Melbourne in September 2012.

All three murderers were caught and convicted, but a major condemnation of Victoria’s judicial system was heard from every corner of the country, and 30,000 people took to the streets of Melbourne in protest that Adrian Bailey, who killed Jill Meagher, had several convictions prior to her murder and was freely walking the streets.
