Gardaí have officially opened their latest recruitment drive in the aim of filling up to 800 new positions.
The latest recruitment drive which comes as part of the force’s bid to have a significant number of Gardai on the streets in the coming years, will be open to the public until June the 6th.
However in order to obtain a position on the force applicants must meet a certain a number of requirements in order to be considered an acceptable candidate.
The Gardaí say they are looking for people between the ages of 18 to 35, that have no preexisting medical conditions and they must be in good physical condition.
Applicants wishing to join the force must also an Irish Leaving Certificate with a grade D3 minimum in five subjects at ordinary level, or an equivalent Level 5 Certificate on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Those wishing to obtain a position must also be fluent in two languages, preferably English and Irish.
An Garda síochána say all applications must be submitted before 3pm on the 6th of June.
