“We wouldn’t stop until everyone was accounted for” – Local voluntary rescue workers praised in Creeslough

Locals who volunteered to do all that they could following the disaster at a petrol station in Donegal have been praised for their efforts having helped emergency crews work right through the night.

They said that they wouldn’t stop until everyone was accounted for, everyone was either rescued or recovered and the job was done.

Ten people are now confirmed to have died a following blast at a service station in the village of Cresslough in Co. Donegal on Friday.

The death toll includes a child and two teenagers.

It’s understood that those who died are 4 men, 3 women, 2 teenagers, one male and one female, and a young girl.

The explosion ripped through the station and destroyed an adjacent apartment building.

Emergency crews held a one minute silence at a press conference where they said the don’t expect any further fatalities but that there’s a lot of people badly injured.
