Met Eireann say that from today onwards Ireland is about to hit with another run of bitterly cold winter weather.
The so-called Arctic blast of air is said to hit the West of North of the country worse – with temperatures set to drop to below zero, particularly from evening time on Monday and Tuesday.
The arctic blast of air will make the temperatures have a “real feel” of much colder than they actually are – so people are advised to dress appropriately and not to let the celcius in the car deceive them.
Wintry showers of snow and sleet are expected over the 48-hour period, especially on high lying ground. Motorists are advised to take extra care on the roads until the cold spell passes.
