Storm Ewan: Weather warning issued with winds to reach 120/klm and snow forecast from tomorrow




Time to batten down the hatches.

Storm Doris may just be behind us, but the weather is once again about to get a whole lot colder according to Met Eireann.

Storm Ewan has gripped the country with winds blasting up to 120/klm with orange warnings for Cork, Wexford, Kerry and Waterford until at least 3pm today.

According to the national forecaster, freezing temperatures will strike from tomorrow as temperatures are expected to drop to single figures, with Snow, Sleet and Hail expected to fall in many counties.

Forecasters say Monday will to be a bitterly cold day with wintry showers of rain, hail, sleet and snow, with the western half of the country expected to have some thunder.

Meanwhile Tuesday will be a cold windy day with a high chill effect. The snow/sleet will mostly fall in northern and eastern counties with high areas in Louth and Armagh said to be worst affected.

Wednesday will be a wet and windy day with rain turning to wet snow at times.
