Weather warning: Met Eireann issue Status Yellow warning for a number of counties due to heavy rainfall

It’s the very tail end of the summer, or whatever you want to call it this year, but we’re in for an absolute washout today.

Last night saw very heavy rainfall in the northwest from around 8pm until 2am this morning and that that weather is moving southwards.

Met Eireann, the national weather forecaster, have issued a status yellow weather warning for counties Cork, Kerry, Wexford, and Waterford. It will kick in at 2pm today, and remain in effect until at least 5am on Sunday morning.

People are advised to drive with caution as flash flooding may happen in places with delays expected on the roads due to the weather.
