Weather Warning: Met Eireann issues status yellow wind warning for overnight and tomorrow morning




The national forecaster Met Eireann has issued a status Yellow weather warning for overnight and tomorrow morning as gusts blast up to 110klm an hour in the north west of the country.

All coastal areas will see high seas with the east coast getting the lighter winds overnight.

There’s two yellow level wind warnings with the strongest winds expected to be on north and western coastal counties in particular Donegal, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Galway, Clare and Kerry.

The warning is effect from 7pm Saturday night and remains in place until 7am on Sunday morning.

The second Status Yellow warning has been issued by Met Eireann for Leinster, Cork, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

It has come into effect from 8pm tonight and will remain in place until 9am tomorrow morning.

Winds of 50 to 65km/hr are expected with gusts of 90 to 100km/hr.
