Storm Blarney left devastation and grief in its wake, only to be replaced by sleet, snow, and freezing temperatures over the weekend.
The thermometer will hover around the 5-6C mark today, Saturday, sinking to zero or below tonight. Sunday morning will start cold and dry, with the possibility of showery rain developing during the day. Temperatures will rise to about 8 towards the afternoon, and the absence of clouds will likely give rise to sharp frost overnight, which may make for hazardous driving during Monday’s rush hour.
Milder temperatures are expected from Monday afternoon on.
