‘Weather warnings likely’ – Met Eireann says there’s a potential storm threat ‘within days’

Met Eireann said a weather alert is “likely” for next week as a potential storm moves from the Atlantic over Ireland.

Strong winds were forecast with rain, which some weather experts say could be the first storm of the year, reports The Mirror.

Our weather is expected to remain volatile over the Easter weekend with a mix of sunshine and rain, but conditions will worsen on Tuesday.

Met Éireann provided its forecast over the Easter bank holiday weekend and said Tuesday would be “wet and windy on Tuesday with wind warnings likely to be issued. There is potential for impactful conditions so stay up to date with the forecast for your local area,” reports The Mirror.

Weather models show a scary system developing in the Atlantic, with weather warnings for Ireland saying on Facebook Thursday there is a “risk of a storm” for the first time in a long time.

They said: “Lots of the models forecasting this storm to impact Ireland next Tuesday into Wednesday. From this mornings models the ECMWF, UKMO and the ICON model are in some agreement that the system will impact Ireland. A very interesting weekend of forecasts coming up! A chance of the first storm of the season being named…. in April,” reports The Mirror.

Meanwhile, Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly says that the ECMWF model “has been consistent on the risk of storm Tuesday/Wednesday and that continues with latest run,” reports The Mirror.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann has issued a foggy forecast for the bank holiday weekend with sell-out conditions for Easter Monday.

However, on Friday and Saturday, there will be dry sun with intermittent rain, then the situation will worsen further.
