Welcome home! Irish airports prepare for busiest day of the year as over 100,000 expected to fly into Dublin Airport alone for Christmas

The operator of Dublin Airport, daa, has stated that it anticipates today to be the busiest day for travel leading up to Christmas, reports RTE.

There will be about 102,000 travellers leaving and arriving at the airport today.

Over 1.5 million passengers are anticipated to pass through the airport between December 18 and January 6, the Christmas season, reports RTE.

On Christmas Eve, flight operations will end at 11 p.m., following the final flight, in order to guarantee that air traffic control space is completely free for any guests arriving from the North Pole.

On St. Stephen’s Day, flights will start up again at 5.55 a.m, reports RTE.
