We’ll take them all in: Govt setting up reception centres for migrants

In the near future, the government intends to purchase at least three sizable houses across the nation, which will serve as reception areas for individuals wishing to seek asylum in Ireland, reports RTE.

According to the plans now in development, the State may lease or purchase these centres.

The coalition believes that the State should have more authority over the housing it offers to asylum seekers and those who arrive from Ukraine, reports RTE.

The Citywest Hotel in Dublin, which doubles as a reception area and has space for 2,000 guests, already has a two-year contract in place.

As the government attempts to become more involved in the management of these institutions, it is possible that this approach will now be repeated, reports RTE.
