Wendy’s are launching in Ireland and will create 300 jobs

About 300 jobs will be created when the US fast food brand Wendy’s opens in Ireland, reports RTE.

Corrib Oil, an energy firm and service station, has agreed to become Wendy’s franchise partner in Ireland.

Corrib intends to open 10 Wendy’s locations nationwide between 2025 and 2027.

A combination of freestanding Wendy’s restaurants and new Wendy’s options at current Corrib service station locations will make up the first site locations, which will be revealed in the new year, reports RTE.

Early in 2025, a hiring push will begin for the 300 new positions.

Wendy’s is well-known for their custom-made square hamburgers, salads and chicken.

The firm stated that it expects to source products locally whenever feasible and that the beef served in its Irish restaurants would be 100% Irish sourced and certified, reports RTE.

Wendy’s has more than 7,200 locations, more than 1,200 of which are outside of the United States, and its headquarters are in Dublin, Ohio.

Corrib and Ireland are ideal for the brand, according to EJ Wunsch, President, International, of The Wendy’s Company.

“Ireland is a great market for long-term growth for Wendy’s,” Mr Wunsch said, reports RTE.

“With a proven track record of outstanding operations and a significant growth history, we are confident that Corrib Oil is the right partner to drive Wendy’s expansion in Ireland,” he added, reports RTE.

Currently, Corrib Oil has 38 forecourt convenience outlets in 17 counties.

Together with its energy segment, which operates 18 terminals nationwide, Corrib now employs 1,150 people; as part of the first phase of its Wendy’s agreement, that number will rise to 1,450.

“This collaboration brings together two brands that share a commitment to quality, community and exceptional customer experience,” said Eugene Dalton, chief executive of Corrib Oil, reports RTE.
