Were any Ukrainian? 755 motorists were detected speeding in 24-hour National Slow Down Day




A driver who was caught speeding during a 24-hour National Slow Down Day campaign was one of 755 drivers spotted travelling at 194 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, reports RTE.

GoSafe monitored the speeds of 163,146 cars during the campaign, which concluded at 7 a.m., and found that 225 of them were over the relevant speed limit.

Over the course of the 24-hour period, 530 cars were intercepted by Gardaí for exceeding the appropriate speed limit, reports RTE.

One of the drivers caught speeding was one on the N25 Loughaderry in County Cork; the driver was doing 194 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

On Main Street in Charleville, Cork, a driver was caught speeding at 112 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, while on the N13 at Teevickmoy, Stranorlar, a driver was seen speeding at 132 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, reports RTE.
