We’re looking at two more weeks of lockdown with a very slow unwinding, according to reports

Everyone wants the lockdown to finish at this stage with cabin fever well and truly set in across the country, but is it the right time to lift measures. Well it appears as though Tony Holohan is about to announce that May 5th will not be the date to lift restrictions.

It looks like we’re going nowhere fast as reports claim that the current lockdown restrictions are to be extended for at least two weeks.

According to a report in the Irish Independent, the majority of people will remain on lockdown for two weeks while some builders and gardeners may be allowed out to go to work.

It’s understood that over 70s may be allowed out for daily exercise, with a possible extension of the 2km radius.

The government will give a press conference on Friday announcing new measures to start from May 5th. It’s understood that several TDs want all lockdown lifted by that Simon Harris and Charlie Flanagan have allegedly refused to do so.
