What Irish homeless problem? The use of tents for Ukrainians coming into Ireland will only be temporary until they’re housed

Simon Coveney says the Defence Forces has been asked to provide temporary accommodation, which will include tents for Ukrainian refugees in Gormanstown, County Meath.

It’s understood that it’s a reserve facility, but the Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that the use of tents for Ukrainians who come into Ireland will only be for a temporary phase.

However, a vast number of people feel that the 10,000 homeless Irish people, many of whom have been living long-term in tents on streets around the country, should be looked after first.
