WhatsApp have issued a warning to its users today after a number of users have reported an incident were they receive a email containing a trojan virus.
The online communications company say the harmful “trojan virus” could cost users “hundreds of euros”.
Meanwhile ESET Ireland have issued a statement also warning all users to be careful of the phishing email.
According to both ESET and Whatsapp the email claims a user has a”Missed voicemail” and encourages users to click a link to play the “new voicemessage”.
However once a user clicks the link they will not hear any message mail but instead begin downloading a virus.
