White Christmas not looking likely as forecasters say it will be a cold and dry day

It seems that there will be no snow on Christmas Day this year according to the latest weather charts.

According to Met Eireann, this Christmas Day will be a cold but dry day as the chance of snow looks slim.

The national forecaster say that although some light rain showers may develop later in the day, Christmas day will be a largely dry affair with temperatures in single digits.

They also say Christmas Eve will be a largely dry day although some showers are expected in coastal areas.

Temperatures on Christmas Eve are expected to range between 4 and 7C with some frost expected to develop overnight.
