The White House has moved to block Anthony Fauci from testifying before the Democrat-controlled US Senate next week.
Fauci, a veteran medical expert who has served under several presidential administrations, was called as a witness for an inquiry led by the Appropriations Committee on the President’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak in the US.
However, the White House issued a statement stating that ‘Fauci, and other officials, are busy dealing with the pandemic.’
Fauci has repeatedly clashed with Donald Trump’s view about the US Government’s handling of the crisis.
