Who are you really donating to? Charities outraged that their wages aren’t being increased with pay deal

The Coalition of Charities and Voluntary Organisations, whose staff were awarded an 8% pay rise by the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) in October, said it was extremely disappointing that the Government had not yet clarified the process for making the funding available, reports RTE.

The groups said the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform needed immediate clarification on when the money would be released.

The strike involving 5,000 workers from 17 organisations, including the Irish Wheelchair Association and Enable Ireland, reached a pay deal on October 17 ahead of schedule.

The agreement will benefit employees of Section 39, 56 and 10 organizations.

These are non-governmental organizations and charities commissioned by the government to provide services to the state in health, childcare and homelessness, reports RTE.
