People aren’t happy with the accusations coming out of Limerick Prison this week.
An inmate at Limerick Prison repeatedly threatened to rape and sexually attack her, a prison guard testified during a Limerick trial, reports RTE.
Barbie Kardashian, a 22-year-old transgender woman, was accused of threatening to kill or seriously hurt a prison guard and another inmate on dates in February, April, and June of last year.
After Kardashian threatened to rape and sexually assault her on April 25, 2023, and June 9 and 11, 2023, RóisÃn Linnane, a supervisory prison officer in Limerick for the past seven years, told a jury at Limerick Circuit Court that she was shocked, scared, and worried about her safety.
“I never feared for my safety and never feared a prisoner, but in this case I did, and I also feared about the release date,” Ms Linnane said, reports RTE.
Kardashian was initially questioned by Ms. Linnane on April 25th about whether or not she had cleaned the shower after using it.
She claimed to have watched Kardashian via a glass window in a huge red security door that is locked while inmates are in the shower room as she sat “in defiance” on a chair next to the shower.
Officer Linnane told the court that the accused approached the glass window and threatened to “sexually assault and molest you” when she asked her again whether she had cleaned the shower, reports RTE.
She also tried to stop Kardashian from yelling obscenities at Tegan McGhee, another witness in the case, via her cell door on June 9, 2023.
She said that Kardashian responded, “I haven’t forgotten you,” when Officer Linnane instructed her to halt via the glass pane of the cell door. I’ll harass you and rape you, reports RTE.
As she brought food back to her cell, the witness got agitated and described a second threat that day from Kardashian. She threatened to rape Ms. Linanne with an instrument and put her hands between her legs.
On the evening of June 11, when Ms. Linnane was the officer on night duty, she also described two further threats of sexual assault and rape, reports RTE.
On Friday afternoon, Kardashian was found not guilty of all charges.
