“Why doesn’t he buy PPE from Ireland rather than South Korea” – mixed reactions to Bono sourcing equipment from South Korea

There’s been very mixed reactions to Bono saying that he’s trying to source personal protective equipment from South Korea, rather than from Irish companies who also can supply PPE’s.

People are saying why doesn’t the U2 frontman approach the many Irish companies who would like the business and can supply the PPE’s in the same country.

U2 frontman Bono wrote to South Korean President Moon Jae-in asking for help in fighting the Covid 19 epidemic in Ireland, the president’s office said.

A spokesman for Mr. Moon said Bono, who many on social media are calling “Saint Bono”, had asked South Korea for PPE, medical care and diagnostic kits and would pay for them himself.

Earlier this month, U2 announced that it would contribute 10 million euros to the purchase of EPP.

Bono also praised South Korea’s leadership during the pandemic.

South Korea was one of the first countries outside of China to be affected by the virus, where the coronavirus first appeared.

South Korea experienced the world’s second largest epidemic for a while before it was largely controlled by a widespread test campaign.
