Over the past week, a number of people are complaining that they’re being phoned by unknown +48 mobile phone numbers.
The scam calls have a recorded voice message asking people to add their number to whatsapp.
Once added, they scammer then texts the recipient claiming that they’re from their bank and that there’s a problem with their bank card and to send them their card details to fix the problem.
People are advised to hang up immediately and block these numbers – alternatively, people are simply asked not to answer the call at all.
Social media users are asked to share this information with their friends, in particular, elderly family and friends.
