Stormy weather is set to continue for today, at least, with wind and weather warnings in effect everywhere.

An orange rain warning is currently in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo. Around 60mm of rain is expected to fall in these counties.

Elsewhere, a yellow wind warning will be in effect for Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford. Gusts of up to 90 km/h are expected.

Meanwhile, rain warnings are also in place for Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim and Roscommon, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

The outlook is for persistent and heavy rain in the west, spreading eastwards throughout the afternoon. It will remain very mild for the time of year, however, with daytime temperatures reaching 13C.
