Ireland could be in line to receive 2.2 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s one-shot vaccination, if the EU approves it, and there’s just been a big jump forward to that now happening.
America’s Food and Drug Administration, the FDA has announced that it’s going to approve the vaccine for emergency use initially. The vaccine has shown to be between 66% and 88% effective after only having to take one single dose.
It’s understood that FDA officials will meet later today and decide on whether or not to give it approval for mass public use but that is now looking very likely.
The FDA has authorized vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna in the same route over the past number of months so it’s looking very promising that a one-shot jab is on the way to Ireland, the UK and Europe.
