The last few days have been relatively mild, with temperatures reaching 13C in places.
However, that’s coming to an abrupt end tomorrow afternoon as an icy mantle descends over Ireland.
It will be a wet start of the day, and temperatures will remain in the 10-11C range.
However, by Friday afternoon time, the thermometer will sink to about 5C, dropping even further by nightfall, to 1-2C, with frost likely in sheltered areas.
Saturday will remain cold, with highest temperatures of around 9C. Showers will develop by Sunday, while the thermometer will rise again to about 10C.
