Gardaí in Co Laois have confirmed that a woman aged in her 20s has sadly died following a road traffic incident this morning.
It is understood the woman was killed after the car she was travelling in collided with another vehicle on the Lea Road in Portarlington at approximately 8.20am.
Gardaí say the four occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
