A 33-year-old woman was assaulted at her home this morning and robbed at knifepoint.
The incident happened at around 8:50am in the Belfry area of Citywest, Dublin. Five raiders armed with bladed weapons gained entry into a house and threatened a woman, who was alone in the property at the time.
The burglars took a substantial amount of cash during the raid and fled in a vehicle taken outside the house. The vehicle was later recovered and has been preserved for a forensic examination.
A 17-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the incident, and is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the robbery.
