A baby had a hectic and rather unusual entry into the world last night when her mother crashed the car on the way to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.
A local couple, driving past the crash site, Eamon and Mae, stopped to help. Upon realizing the woman was in labor, Eamon rang an ambulance, but the baby was in a hurry to see the light.
Mae leaned over to help and the woman said ‘Catch my baby,’ which Mae did.
The ambulance arrived a few minutes later, and paramedics provided further care.
Mother and baby are said to be doing fine.
