An Australian woman is in critical condition after falling 100ft from a fairground ride over the weekend.
According to reports in the Australian press the 25-year-old woman sustained serious head and spinal injuries following the fall which occurred in Cairns.
It is understood that the women fell in front of a crowd of onlookers at the Cairns Showfest on Saturday.
Police investigating the incident say the woman fell from a ride which is called The Hangover.
It is not known how the woman fell but police say an investigation is currently ongoing.
