Woman left badly shaken following a carjacking in Co Kildare




Gardaí in Co Kildare have launched an investigation after a woman was left badly shaken following a carjacking this morning.

It is understood the woman was held at knifepoint at a roundabout at Bothar Philip, near Kill, Co Kildare, at approximatley 7am this morning.

Gardaí say the man flagged down the woman who who stopped to offer him assistance.

However upon stopping the man took out a knife and forced her to hand over the keys of the vehicle.

It is believed that the man who was wearing a high-vis vest at the time, took off in the vehicle a blue Hyundai Tucson and travelled in the direction of the N7 Northbound exit.

Gardaí say they have yet to make any arrests, although they say they believe the man may have been involved in an accident prior to the incident.
