Gardaí in Co Galway have confirmed that a woman aged in her 50s currently remains in critical condition in hospital following a road traffic incident on Christmas Eve.
It is understood the woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car at a 8:45pm on a local road in Carrowmanagh, Oughterard.
Gardaí say the woman was taken University Hospital Galway where she remains in critical condition.
They added that the driver of the car a woman aged in her 40s was uninjured in the incident.
