A woman has bravely spoken out about the terrible abuse she suffered from an abusive boyfriend while in lockdown earlier this year. Paul Richards-Keegan allegedly hit his girlfriend, spat on her, tore her hair and threatened her with a machete.

Seren ended the two-year relationship in August after she was hospitalised following a beating. According to the Metro, the 31-yr-old woman’s neighbours alerted police when they saw Richards-Keegan push her face against a fence, hit her repeatedly and tear her top off. Richards-Keegan, 24, was found guilty of multiple charges and given a 10-year restraining order.

The woman said that she hopes that her story going public will help other people who may be in a similar situation but are too afraid to speak out but that they should know that help is there and that they should and must speak out if they’re in a similar situation.
