Workplace stoppages expected at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda after INMO members vote in favour of industrial action

There will be strike action amongst nurses at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda after The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation voted overwhelmingly in favour of workplace stoppages this afternoon.

The scheduled workplace stoppages come after discussions between the INMO and hospital management at the Workplace Relations Commission broke down without any agreement in place.

It is understood nursing staff are holding the strike action in protest of the lack of nursing staff available at the facility, which they have said is negatively impacting upon patient care and staff morale.

The INMO say Nurses at the hospital will hold a work-to-rule on Tuesday 24 May where nurses will set aside non-core working duties.
