World to be united in prayer later today as boxing icon and sporting legend Muhammad Ali will be laid to rest in his hometown of Louisville




There world will be united in prayer later today as one of sports greatest stars and global icon Muhammad Ali will be laid to rest in his hometown of Louisville.

The boxer who inspired many sadly passed away aged 74 last Saturday after suffering respiratory issues, will make his way to his final resting place later today were his family, friends and fellow celebrities will pay their respects to the great man.

Ali’s service will take place at 2pm local time 7pm (Irish time), beforehand Actor Will Smith and former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis will carry his coffin through the streets of his hometown were the public will line the streets to pay their last respects to their dearly departed hero.

Ali will then be brought to a public interfaith service at a nearby basketball arena with the service being streamed live for millions around the world to watch on the internet, it is believed a list of notable athletes, entertainers and politicians will also attend the service to pay their last respects to the boxing legend.

Among those expected to attend the boxing icons funeral are former US President Bill Clinton, who was a personal friend of Ali as well as comedian Billy Crystal.
