It is just over a month until St Patrick’s Day but today Tourism Ireland will officially announce its plans for celebrations around the world in honour of our patron saint.
It is understood that a number of Iconic landmarks and buildings around the world will purposely turn green on March 17th to pay homage to everything Irish.
The tradition which spans almost a decade will apparently see over 250 landmarks including the Empire State Building to The Leaning Tower of Pisa go green to mark the occasion.
It is expected that a number of other landmarks will be joining in this year, it is also believed that a number of countries will be holding parades to celebrate St Patrick’s day.
A spokesperson for Tourism Ireland said: “Although St Patrick’s day is a great national holiday for Ireland, it is also a time where people are thinking about taking their summer holidays so it is a great time to be out in the media, a lovely positive time for Ireland.”
