Yasutaro Koide passed away earlier this morning at a nursing home in Japan. He was just two months short of reaching his 113th birthday.
According to records, he was born on March 13, 1903, in Nagoya, Japan, where he lived all his life.
In his own words, the secret for his longevity was “not to overdo it, not to drink or smoke and to live with joy.”
Another Japanese man, 111-year-old Tokyo native Masamitsu Yoshida, now takes the crown of world’s oldest male.
