Wrap up warm over the Bank Holiday weekend, as the weather is forecast to be rather freezing

The October Bank Holiday is forecast to be rather cold, weather wise, with heavy showers at times and temperatures sinking to -3C in some areas. There’s likely to be widespread frost at night, and sleet on high ground.

Today, Thursday, will remain relatively mild, with temperatures reaching 13C in places.

Friday will feel much colder, as temperatures drop to single digits and wind direction shifts to north-northwest.

Saturday will be the worst day of the lot, with daytime temperatures of 6-7C, dropping to below zero overnight.

Sunday will see higher daytime temperatures, reaching 10-11C at times, but another cold night in store.
