Yellow status warning issued for the North West as heavy rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours




A yellow status warning has been issued for the North West as heavy rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours.

In an announcement made this afternoon Met Eireann said the warning will come into effect from 2pm today and will remain in place until 11pm tomorrow night.

The warning comes as heavy rain is expected in counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

The national forecaster say there is a possible risk of localised flooding in some areas.
