Met Eireann has just issued a weather morning, which kicked in at 9am, and will remain in effect all day today.
Anything between 20-40mm of rain is expected to blight the country today, so be prepared if you venture out there.
Munster and Leinster will see the worst of it, with persistent and occasionally heavy rain. Ulster and connacht will fare slightly better, with outbreaks of rain at times.
The rain is expected to die out towards the evening.
