“You were one of a kind” – tributes paid as funeral plans are announced for the young mother who died in a traffic accident last week

Funeral preparations have been announced for a young mother from Limerick who died in a single-vehicle traffic accident last weekend, reports The Mirror.

Shannon O’Halloran, of Oakfield, Fr Russell Road, Raheen, was driving a vehicle which was involved in the collision at around 3.30am last Sunday.

Mrs O’Halloran, 29, who was an accomplished beautician, died at the scene in Kilduff, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick.

Her accomplice, known locally as Paul Bennett, 30, who was a passenger in the car at the time and who was seriously injured, remains in hospital being treated for his injuries, reports The Mirror.

Gardai said a young girl and a boy, also in the car, “also receiving medical treatment but their injuries are not life-threatening,” reports The Mirror.

Ms O’Halloran was survived by her “heartbroken family, sons Dion and Jaxson, daughter Lexie, mother Elizabeth brothers and sisters”, an online death notice read, reports The Mirror.

Mr O’Halloran’s remains will remain at Cross Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, from 4.30pm to 6pm Wednesday before being taken to St Joseph’s Church, O’Connell Avenue, at 6.30pm.

Her funeral is at 12pm on Thursday with burial in Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

Tributes rained down Sunday for Ms O’Halloran, described as “beautiful” and “one of a kind”.

“To say I’m devastated is an understatement, it’s a sad world we live in, you were the best nail (technician), we had many laughs together, we cried together…You were one of a kind, my heart’s broke for your kids, another sad day, she was one fo a kind xxxxxx,” read one tribute, reports The Mirror.
