
Roy Keane has paid tribute to his mother Marie following her passing at the age of 79. Mrs Keane will be buried in Cork this morning.
Marie Keane died on Friday at Marymount Hospice in her home county of Cork, reports Breaking News.
Keane shared a photo of himself with his mother, who was pictured holding a blanket that appeared to display images of her children and grandchildren.
The former Manchester United captain captioned the image: “You’ll always be the boss.”, reports Breaking News.
Keane, aged 54, had previously described Marie as “the only boss I listen to”.
The Cork native was known to have a close relationship with his parents, and his father Maurice “Mossie” Keane passed away in 2019 at the age of 79, reports Breaking News.
Former teammates Gary Neville, David Beckham and Robbie Keane were among those who expressed their sympathies in response to the post.
