One fatality has been confirmed, and four people injured, following a crash involving a stolen car in Kilkenny.
The incident happened near Hennebry’s Cross on the N77 between Kilkenny town and Ballyragget just before 4pm on Friday.
The deceased, a male in his 30s, survived the crash but died in hospital a short time later. He was the driver of the suspected stolen car.
The injured parties in the second car were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A young girl who was waiting in her father’s car when it was stolen remains in critical condition following the crash. She is in St Luke’s hospital in Kilkenny where her condition is said to be serious but not life threatening.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
