Young woman dies from being struck by an ambulance whilst waiting at a bus stop




A 40-year-old woman standing at a bus stop in the village of Salfords was struck by an ambulance.

The South East Coast Ambulance was believed to be heading towards East Surrey Hospital when it careered into the bus shelter on Brighton Road at about 9.20am.

The Metro reported the “the ambulance looks like it (the ambulance) swerved left onto the pavement where it smashed into the bus stop and missed a telephone line by an inch. Part of the bus stop is hanging off the side of the ambulance where it came to rest”.

The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
