A zookeeper has been injured by a lion while cleaning out the animal’s cage.
The incident happened at Osnabruck Zoo in Germany earlier today.
It is understood that the staff member forgot to close a connecting hatch, which enabled the lion to enter the cage.
The zookeeper’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
