More than half of people in society cannot afford cost of their healthcare, new report claims




According to a recent research, more than half of Irish individuals cannot pay their own medical requirements, reports Breaking News.

The public’s impressions about healthcare in the State were uncovered by the My Healthcare, My Future research.

The percentage of people who claimed they now had health insurance is just over half (51%)—a drop of 4% from 2021.

50% of respondents believed they had access to sufficient mental health resources, whereas 25% reported delays in scheduling specialist consultations after being recommended by their general practitioner, reports Breaking News.

Approximately 79% of those surveyed thought that the cost of medications in Ireland was higher than in other EU nations.

With 44% of people stating they see their chemist before their GP, the chemist has surpassed the GP as the first person to see for health-related concerns.

Regarding research, sixty-one percent of the general public stated that they would look up their symptoms or the symptoms of family members online before going to the doctor or chemist, reports Breaking News.

In the previous year, 29% of adults accessed health-related content on YouTube, whereas 37% of users accessed health-related content on TikTok.

Surprising revelations about the dynamics between the general public and people who fall into the GenZ age range of 18 to 25 were made possible by the research, reports Breaking News.
