? BREAKING: At least three people dead in Donegal petrol station explosion

UPDATE:

Gardai have confirmed that at least three people are dead following an explosion at a petrol station in Donegal.

They say that there’s possibly more fatalities following the explosion as more people are rescued and recovered.

It’s understood that several people are trapped inside the rubble of the shop and apartment building complex where the petrol station explosion occurred. Some of the people have made contact with rescue workers outside where it’s understood there are a number of people injured from the explosion.

Authorities have not given a full account of the situation at this time, or injuries to parties present in and around the building at the time of the explosion other than to warn everyone to completely avoid the area.

EARLIER:

Emergency services are at the scene of an explosion at an Apple Green petrol station in the Creeslough area of Co Donegal. It’s understood that several people are believed to have been seriously injured and several ambulances are at the scene.

A witness at the scene also reported that a helicopter responded to the blast.

Locals say they heard an enormous explosion that has destroyed the shop and apartment complex of the building. A large numer of ambulances, fire brigades and gardai are at the scene.

The condition of those injured is not known at this time, but emergency services say that it’s very serious.

Gardaí are asking all road users wishing to travel to Creeslough to consider alternative routes.
