Gardai had arrested one man following a fatal stabbing at a funeral in Tralee, Co. Kerry on Wednesday, the subsequently arrested a second man in connection with the murder.
43-yr-old Thomas Dooley was stabbed to death, while a woman, believed to be his wife, sustained serious injuries in the attack.
Shortly after 5am this morning, his own bother, 35-yr-old Patrick Dooley was charged with murdering Thomas Dooley.
He appeared in court this morning and was not released on bail, reports RTE, due to the District Court being unable to grant bail.
Thomas Dooley’s case will be funded by the taxpayer as he was granted free legal aid due to being a carer for this wife and child.
The second man arrested remains in Garda custody in Kerry.
